MG Clubs

The Aberdeen MG Owner's Club is affiliated to the (national) MG Owner's Club.

Other MG-specific websites are the MG Car Enthusiasts site and the official MG-Rover site.

In Scotland, visit the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Highland and Stirling MGOC websites.  Tayside MGOC and The Kingdom MGOC have pages on Facebook.

in the Aberdeenshire vicinity that club members have used, with their comments.  (Please note, these garages cannot be formally recommended by the Aberdeen MGOC or its parent MGOC.  The information is provided without warranty, express or implied.)

  AW Autotech, Aberdeen.

Graham Rettie says: "Alan Wallace who owns AW Autotech is keen to support the club and classic car guys."  Great workshop and experienced mechanics.           When booking ask for Martin and mention MGOC.

Five Mile Garage, beside the Esso Filling Station on the road between Westhill and Kingswells.

I have no personal knowledge of this facility but at least one of our members uses them for MOTs and repairs. They are a long established and well respected repair shop.  Comments from DB.

  Jim King Autos, Inverurie.

Jim is one of the few garages in the area that 'fettle' an older car.  Recommended for tuning services.  Comments from IS.

  Kintore Autobody and Restoration Centre.

I had my MGB body stripped, rebuilt and resprayed by Gareth at Kintore Autobodies.  They have rebuilt three or four MGBs.  During the one year the car was in the garage they were rebuilding a split screen VW camper van, XK 140, a Ferrari and various other classics.  They have some very good Eastern European welders who can reconstruct panels.  They don't do mechanicals but if anyone needs a body part restored or a car refurbished then I'm sure a visit to the workshop may prove beneficial.  Comments from RB

Carcraft Autobody & Restorations, Peterculter.

Nicky George and his crew have done a superb job of stripping, repairing and respraying my MGB Roadster shell, at a very reasonable price.  Strongly recommended!  FO.

The Wheel Specialist, Dyce.

These folk come recommended not only from club members but also further afield. They have access to a competent aluminium welder, who can repair badly damaged rims through rebuilding, before turning and re-polishing. Mention Aberdeen MG Owners Club for a 10% discount.

 Spotless Detailing, Perth.

From club Secretary Roger Key: "Decided to go with Callum, following area recommendation, to get our XJ clear wrapped around the road rash strategic damage areas. Local Aberdeen vendors are packed out with work for weeks ahead, but Callum could manage on fairly short notice. Check his website – he does motorcycles also, but mainly dealing with the likes of Jag, Porsche, Aston etc. He runs a serious operation!"
